Title:Bryneven Coding feeding Purple Mash into html

DESCRIPTION:
We use an hypertext markup language file to link to another file of the same type. Our lesson touches on savings – with the extensions png and htm. We use anchor elements and images to create this connection – in the body part. This is the fifth lesson on August 14 about using HTML tags.

This tutorial is based on our previous tutorials on the structure of hypertext markup files.

We explore and promote a basic understanding building our Bryneven coding learners to be passionate by exploring patterns of code. We use Purple Mash work to feed into an html file.

Mr. ECM Bradley, a teacher at Gauteng and a teacher at Bryneven Primary School, is involved in the promotion of programming. We do this with Purple Mash. Bryneven Primary School is at the forefront of pushing for a coding dimension which is part of 21st century teaching and learning.

Title:Bryneven Tutoring various Gr 4s with Purple Mash Football Game

DESCRIPTION:
A tutoring lesson with Grade 4 learners. We take into account different situations encountered when playing football Challenge. This is when engaging with the Football activity -is a challenge for the youngest learners in the middle phase (Intermediate Phase learners). This lesson just moves between taking the group -beyond what they would do alone (zone of proximal development).

The main educational tool -basic teacher, code blocks, interactive assistance, the structure and featured publication -all of that is within the idea of publishing our works; it points to the progressive movement through the challenges.

Gauteng Department of Education teacher, Mr ECM Bradley, promotes coding through Purple Mash. Bryneven Primary School is at the forefront of pushing for the coding dimension -which is a component of 21st century teaching and learning.

Title:Bryneven presents Purple Mash Night And Day with Gr3

DESCRIPTION:
A Bryneven Primary lesson for the 3rd, 4th and 5th year classes. In this Purple Mash lesson we will use a timer to control the time (seconds).

We think about the regularity of day and night – the sun appearing and hiding. This is the basis for examining the basic logic of the natural movement of our Earth fascinating field of what can be linked to the whole of science -that makes constructive and systematic thought (system’s thinking).

The background is coloured to indicates the presence of the sun; with its opposite – night.

We push a focus on reading the instructions and taking time to see more -rather avoiding the quick glance or rushing through to finish.

Bradley: A Mr ECM Bradley, GDE teacher with the Gauteng Department of Education in South Africa runs a two-week coding course with levels 1-7. The Bryneven Primary School promotes values and skills – integrating that into the technological approach – including the computer coding.

We hope you enjoy watching this piece from our stream on the 13th of August.

Title:GDE Teacher Mr ECM Bradley on sharing Scratch in html files

DESCRIPTION:
Bryneven Coding Lesson: Remembering Grace Hopper. we explore sharing our our favourite Scratch games through an html file. We share the Scratch project from the studio, using iframe that is part of Purple Mash’s sharing features.

This lesson is a merger -the junior and senior lesson; both classes on August 7, 2019. The content is a recording of the actual lesson. The idea here: providing a platform for reflection on what we have covered. Bryneven Primary aims to use its coding lessons to feed further resources and a trove of ideas.

This lesson shows demonstrates how to access code sections, to feed and modify bits that allow scratch play in a html file. We’re considering extensions, htm -which is part of the file naming convention. We hope this is based on our previous lessons in hypertext markup language.

Mr Bradley: A GDE teacher, Gauteng Department of Education in South Africa holds bi-weekly coding classes at Bryneven Primary School. These are lessons that promote the value and skills of computer coding. We hope that you enjoy watching this video.

New Video Upload : Bryneven coding with Purple Mash: Newton’s apple with Gr 4

Title:Bryneven coding with Purple Mash: Newton’s apple with Gr 4

DESCRIPTION:
This lesson is about Newton – getting an apple, on the basis of gravity, on his head. So, when the apple hits his head, an explosion is shown, then hides the bang, it shows a head bump scaled up or down.

We let the science teacher to explain the apparent importance of narrating this story over and over. How we would be inclined to have underestimated the significance of this collision event. This activity responds to identifying with the requirements of each challenge; the tasks building one on the other. Was it Newton who referred to the shoulders of giants?

Completing each of these built on the learning on the previous; leading to the next phase of interaction, that will ultimately end up with a self builder. A detailed understanding is provided by engaging with the reading instructions.

We control the behavior of the objects throught the programming block organization. We still need to communicate their movement and function: to understand a system -21st educational possibility- that represents the larger system. Thus significan apples meet with the head of man -we have bang shows, hides bang, shows bump and history is such and such i.e., much more.

Each of these challenges is building experience that feeds into engaging with the next -finally culminating in a Do it yourself. Mr Bradley, Gauteng Department of Education teacher tries to get a clear cut understanding -derive the necessary expectations, by reading the instructions, alluding to the intro videos. We explore the behaviour of objects -controlled by the organization of significant coding blocks. We have yet to connect -in the movement and acts- move understanding toward the expressiveness of any larger system.

New Video Upload : Bryneven Coding Sharing Purple Mash work in html with Mr Bradley

Youtube Video Postings

Title:Bryneven Coding Sharing Purple Mash work in html with Mr Bradley

DESCRIPTION:
This lesson is broken into three tutorials. They are engaged with Zinhle Ngcama (coding game). Ilaria Zomero’s art piece and Khai Naicker’s animation are used.

The lesson explores events and movements of objects -tuna, crab, clown fish and trout. These fish take different directions, like up, down, left and right, with Zinhle Ngcama (Grade 1). We look at taking our work into play mode, to see what the code does, on the click event.

The when click event is used to trigger the code. We specify which of the objects are linked with the code blocks and the movements of up, down, left and right. By being linked into the code blocks each fish objects movement is rightly associated with its click event e.g., the clown fish moves on the click event of the clown fish. The trout moves on its associated click event. Hence the event matches the designated object i.e., the tuna, crab, clown fish and the trout.

We look at the world button, which is used to share work. The world button allows us to extract the embed code; which is a piece of code that takes the activity, art work and animation from Purple Mash -for sharing. The embed code (iframe) from the activity, art work and animation are placed into the body section of the hypertext markup language file. This embed code (iframe) builds on our previous three lessons.

The last three tutorials explored the structure of the hypertext markup language. We are using the htm extension -to indicate that its being read by the browser- when saving our file from notepad. This lesson provides enough recapping and relooking at the embed code (iframe) to build on the content of those lessons.

1st of August, Thursday. Bryneven’s coding tutor, Mr. Bradley (Mr. B), provides a basic lesson on sharing within a hypertext markup language file. We are enthusiastic: considering how the 21st century is here; it’s all about programming. We consider the emergence of new educational possibilities -expressed through technology- with underlying paradigm shifts. Grade 1s and 2s experience enabled i.e., to keeping and sharing work. We appreciate all support.

Title:Bryneven Coding presents a Basics of html

DESCRIPTION:
In our previous lesson we used embed code, from Purple Mash, to place a game.

A lesson that builds on the previous lesson -the basics of html files. In this lesson we cover the main sections, the body, header and other parts.

We explore the file extension -to be opened by the browser. The whole idea is to place a video in the file using the video tag. This lesson would have built some understanding of the structure or syntax of html files.

Title:Bryneven in Purple Mash exploring saving work with Mr Bradley

DESCRIPTION:
Momster Picture using Purple Mash shapes. We try to build on the idea of saving work, creating a file, from the DIY section -making a picture using basic shapes.

Initially we log in from the usual Guest Mode. We show that our work is not being saved. To get around to being able to save work we log in -using the username and password.

This approach gets the learners to see the possibilities of keeping work. The lesson’s goal moves towards having the whole Grade 1 group being able to preserve and work continuously on projects, by the end of term 2.

These formal activities will comprise the coming year’s work.
